The Short Answer
Covered Bridge is a southwest Austin / Oak Hill-area residential community oriented to Covered Bridge Drive south of SH 71. It has a documented private amenity center, but association membership and access rights vary. I am Clay Byrne of Byrne Real Estate Group, and I help buyers check those details alongside the updated Oak Hill Parkway road layout.
I’m Clay Byrne, founder of Byrne Real Estate Group. Covered Bridge comes up for southwest Austin shoppers comparing established neighborhoods near the US 290 / SH 71 interchange. Here is what to check before choosing a home.
Where is Covered Bridge, and what’s it like?
A City of Austin site plan commission review packet (SPC-2023-0430C, review dated March 25, 2025) identifies the Covered Bridge Amenity Center at 6820 Covered Bridge Drive, District 8, Oak Hill Combined (Oak Hill West). The site is west of Covered Bridge Drive and south of SH 71. The packet documents private community recreation land use and notes earlier 2002 approval of an amenity center/swimming pool. The 2025 request adds two outdoor sport courts described as proposed; that sheet does not establish whether they are now built or open.
Association names are not interchangeable. Distinguish Covered Bridge POA from Enclave at Covered Bridge HOA (TownSq / Goodwin materials, accessed Nov 7, 2026). The management certificate identifies Covered Bridge Sections 2, 3, 4 and 5 and separately identifies Gardens at Covered Bridge Condominium lots. The market sample below uses MLS-recorded single-family sales in main Sections 3-6, including Section 6 based on MLS legal descriptions. It excludes Gardens condominium ownership and Enclave at Covered Bridge by scope, not because all Enclave homes are condos. Inclusion in the sample does not establish pool or other amenity rights; verify those in the resale documents for the property.

What do homes cost in Covered Bridge?
Market sample: Covered Bridge main Sections 3 to 6 (22 closed SF sales)
These figures use MLS-recorded closed single-family sales dated November 7, 2023 through November 7, 2026 in the defined sample above. They are not a complete census or price range for the wider neighborhood. October figures use eligible closings dated October 1-31, 2026. Averages and medians of days on market (DOM) and cumulative days on market (CDOM) omit missing values; price per square foot uses each sale’s recorded price and MLS square footage.
Trailing 3 years (November 7, 2023 through November 7, 2026): 22 closed single-family sales in this defined sample, from $550,000 to $1,400,000, average $805,109, median $792,500. DOM average 51.1, median 39.5; CDOM average 61.4, median 43.5; mean sale price per sq ft about $254 (median $243).
October 2026 (October 1-31, 2026): 1 eligible MLS-recorded closing at $699,500 (DOM 39; CDOM 39; about $251/sq ft). A one-sale month is a thin sample.
Limitations: Hutto/Williamson namesakes are excluded. Enclave at Covered Bridge sales are outside this defined main-section sample. Section inclusion does not imply shared pool or amenity rights. ZIP medians are not used as neighborhood medians here. Street-level comps still matter for any specific address.
How did Oak Hill Parkway change the roads?
TxDOT’s October 1, 2026 news release celebrates completion of the Oak Hill Parkway project, including the reconstructed US 290 / SH 71 interchange, added flyovers, nonstop US 290 mainlanes and bicycle/pedestrian accommodations (accessed Nov 7, 2026). TxDOT’s finishing-work guidance notes that painting, landscaping, paving, striping and shared-use-path work can still cause closures. Check current TxDOT notices and test your actual route rather than assuming construction-era delays or a guaranteed travel time.
What schools serve Covered Bridge?
Confirm the parcel’s school district on Travis CAD, then use the official Austin ISD current-year address tools if it is in AISD. Confirm the campus with the district before an offer. A city planning packet’s stakeholder list is not a school attendance map, and nearby schools are not proof of assignment.
Who is Covered Bridge a good fit for?
- Southwest Austin buyers who want established streets near the SH 71 / US 290 hinge
- Buyers willing to verify which association and which amenities actually apply
- Buyers comparing Covered Bridge with Travis Country, Legend Oaks or Western Oaks
Who might not love it:
- Buyers who need every amenity claim to be brand-new and already open without documentation
- Buyers who assume Enclave, Gardens and Covered Bridge POA are one membership
- Buyers who want the amenity package of a larger master-planned community without reviewing this property’s access rights

FAQs
Where is the Covered Bridge Amenity Center?
A City of Austin planning sheet identifies the Covered Bridge Amenity Center at 6820 Covered Bridge Drive, on the west side of the road south of SH 71, in the Oak Hill West neighborhood planning area and Council District 8. I am Clay Byrne of Byrne Real Estate Group, and we still confirm amenity eligibility for the exact association tied to your address.
Are the outdoor sport courts finished?
The March 25, 2025 city review describes two outdoor sport courts as proposed; that document does not establish that they are open. My team at Byrne Real Estate Group checks current operating status and address-specific eligibility before a client counts on using them.
