I've been selling real estate in Austin for 29 years. For the first 20, I did it by myself... every showing, every contract, every 9 p.m. phone call. Somewhere past the $1 billion mark in closed volume I figured out the thing I wish I'd known at year five: the best part of this job is sitting across from a client and helping them make a great decision. Everything else can be carried by good systems and great people.

That's what Byrne Real Estate Group and Buyer's Rate Mortgage are. One team, one plan, under one roof, built so our agents can stay focused on clients and our clients can stop playing telephone between their agent and their lender. I'm still a producing broker. I'm on listing appointments most weeks, because it keeps me honest about what's actually happening in this market and what our agents are up against.

Five values run through everything I do, at work and at home: make it easy, treat 'em special, everyone is our client, do great work, and do epic stuff. They're on the wall at BREG, but they were mine before they were the company's.

Outside the office, my life is in Rollingwood and the Eanes community. I serve on the board and finance committee of RBI Austin, which changes kids' lives through sports, faith, and mentorship. I coach youth sports whenever they'll let me. I chaired the board at Butterfly Christian Preschool from 2020 to 2023, and our family worships at Ridge Austin. Through Just B Ranch, we provide affordable housing so families have a stable place to build from.

I also host a podcast, Real Estate All Day with Clay, where I talk with agents and business owners about the stuff nobody teaches you in licensing class.

I'm always chasing personal growth... coaching, courses, and a stack of books I'm working through at any given time. Mostly, though, I've learned by doing it, getting it wrong, and doing it again.
